As the days get progressively longer, things are heating up here at Madison Energy Infrastructure! In April, we were thrilled to announce the acquisition of Sun Tribe Solar's commercial team and project pipeline. This exciting partnership furthers our commitment to empower schools with clean energy and adds to our presence in Virginia with the opening of our new Charlottesville office. This development, combined with our continued efforts, sets Madison up for a strong year ahead and an even more advantageous future.
Madison is thrilled to announce our first community solar project in Maryland. Through our partnership with Centennial, the site developer, the Hollinswood project is forecasted to be operational this coming June. This 1 MW DC roof mount will produce approximately 1.3 GWh per year and will serve low-to-moderate income customers.
Our top reads and listens focus on the Biden-Harris Administration announcing $20 billion in awards to expand access to clean energy for communities across the nation and how distributed energy resources (DERs) are poised for a tsunami of deployment because of rising electricity demand and constraints on grid expansion.

With our new Charlottesville team, Madison is championing its Solar Empowered Schools program dedicated to engaging K-12 students with solar energy-focused curriculums through dynamic lesson plans, school visits, and educational projects. Spearheading this program is Meghan Milo, a former teacher who transforms the classroom into living labs where the science behind solar energy is brought to light. Beyond the classroom, Meghan develops and deploys lesson plans that can be shared with any educator through Solar Empowered School’s online platform. Madison sees Meghan and her team’s efforts as an invaluable addition not only to the Madison ethos, but to our K-12 customers for whom this program is an incredible incentive to work with our team.

This spring across North America, the entire continent came to a pause for a moment to witness and share the experience of a solar eclipse. The experience calls to mind the worlds of Carl Sagan from his book Pale Blue Dot: “It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.” As a solar energy company, it was indeed quite humbling to witness the strength of the sun diminished by the our little moon. We therefore invite you to to reflect back on your own eclipse experience and consider our own role to cherish our pale blue dot. View NASA's take on the eclipse through the link below.
